The PRIMER team, coordinated by the University of León, has developed the Education Programme, herewith hosted, with the purpose of covering the training needs of the Ecuadorian teachers of the public education system –according to the analysis carried out by the Ministry of Education. This is adapted at the same time to the study of requirements and training needs developed by the Ministry of Education according to the Ecuadorian constitutional objectives of education as stated in the Andean Republic’s Constitution of 2008, and the educational and epistemological approach of PRIMER. This approach is committed with an interdisciplinary approach in clear rupture with the pedagogical models of positivist tradition, as well as in tune with the scientific discoveries that since the 20th Century has driven to acknowledge the essential unity of the different knowledge fields. With this double motivation, the education programme includes seven autonomous courses oriented to teachers which enable the creation of learning itineraries adapted to the training needs of the teachers. The objective is creating appropriate learning contexts committed with creativity, inclusion, democratic participation, esteeming of the cultural diversity, the responsibility before the building of societies in harmony with its natural and human environment, as well as the usage and development of informational resources as common goods.
Among the learning itineraries conceived within the Programme, it includes the development of a Master Degree through aggregation of courses and a final project.
